NEW USA Routes Coming this Spring
With spring and brighter days ahead, we’re excited to unveil new routes, which we think will excite you and your customers too.
On 9 February, we’re launching a brand-new route to New York between Copenhagen and John F. Kennedy International Airport; the popular airport with connecting flights to the rest of the US as well as easy transport to/from New York. With this, we’re making New York accessible from both east and west as we’re also flying from Scandinavia to Newark (EWR), west of New York.
On 1 April, we’re re-opening our seasonal routes to Toronto from Copenhage nand Stockholm. And later in April, we’re launching two all-new summer routes to New York (EWR) from Gothenburg and Aalborg! Both routes will be operated three times a week with the latest newcomer to our fleet: Airbus A321 Long Range.
Lastly, we’ll offer an extra weekly departure to/from Shanghai. This means we’ll fly twice a week – in each direction – between Copenhagen and Shanghai in the winter season. You’ll find more news from us at SAS in the newsletter below.

Summer Traffic Program
Travel demand is steadily growing, and our traffic program for this summer will offer both new destinations and increased capacity on domestic flights and to popular holiday destinations by the Mediterranean Sea. We’ll increase the number of flights to Spain and Italy, while Zadar will become our fourth destination in Croatia serviced from Copenhagen. In addition, we’ll be expanding our capacity to a number of big European cities.
Antalya, Ibiza, Montpellier and Vasa are just a few examples of our new direct flights to Stockholm. We’re increasing the number of departures on several domestic routes across Scandinavia. All in all, our traffic program will comprise some 5000 departures to more than 100 destinations – every week.

New Solution to Manage Ancillary Products
In the beginning of February 2023, SAS will start using Amadeus Automated Issuance Limit (AIL) for ancillary products (EMD) subject to taxes, such as meals and extra baggage. AIL provides PNRs with issuance time limits(deadlines) and cancels any non-compliant chargeable ancillary service upon deadline. Keep in mind that you still need to pay for ancillary products by issuing an EMD at the same time as the ticket. As AIL automatically cancel sun paid ancillary service(s), we can improve the availability of various travel extras like Pet in Cabin. This application is similar to our ticket solution but supports ancillary products as well.
